As part of its ongoing BeeScape@UM project, the Foundation is proud to unveil a newly acquired outdoor feather banner that will serve to boost our visibility presence at project activities and related community events.
The BeeScape@UM project, led by the Foundation with support from the University of Malta’s Department of Biology, Project Green and funded through the BOV‘s Rebbiegħa 2024 initiative, seeks to establish ecological enclaves that support pollinators and promote public awareness of their vital role in our ecosystems. By creating spaces that encourage the flourishing of bees and other pollinators, BeeScape@UM will help to strengthen both scientific research and community engagement in conservation.
Following a call of interest, an exciting workshop on the construction of bee hotels will be taking place in the coming weeks. These hotels, built from recycled materials, provide safe nesting habitats for solitary wild bees, which are also key species in pollination that are often overlooked. The workshop will offer participants a hands-on opportunity to learn, contribute, and directly support biodiversity. The Foundation looks forward to sharing updates on this project. Stay tuned for more news on how the workshop unfolds!
Shoutout to BOV and their amazing CSR team for their support in making this BOV Rebbiegħa 2024 funded project a reality!
