The Foundation is continuing to strengthen its capacity to deliver professional training, gradually expanding its scope of activities within apiculture and beyond. As part of this commitment, it is facilitating the delivery of the Food Handling Course – Category B by an Approved Food Handling Tutor.
The course aims to equip participants with essential knowledge of food hygiene, safe food handling practices, contamination prevention, and food safety principles, helping them meet relevant food safety requirements.

. . . or simply need to renew your expired qualification, this course provides a valuable learning opportunity while directly supporting the Foundation‘s conservation and outreach efforts.
The course will cover the Food Handling syllabus in-depth, covering all required topics including: Food Hygiene & Foodborne Illnesses, Safe Food Handling & Storage, Food Premises & Environmental Hygiene, Food Safety Management & Legislation and Allergens & Consumer Food Safety. Upon successful completion of a short examination, participants will qualify for a Food Handling Category B Licence, recognised by Malta’s Food Safety and Security Authority (FSSA) and valid for 5 years.

- Duration: 7 hours (including examination)
- Venue: Paola Volunteer Centre (face-to-face)
- Assessment: Short pen-and-paper examination
- Certification: Food Handling Category B Licence (valid for 5 years)
- Participation Fee: €35 for Foundation members | €40 for non-members
