The Foundation is excited to share a special collaboration celebrating both nature & local creativity!
The Foundation for the Conservation of the Maltese Honey Bee has teamed up with talented local artist Kari-Katuri, who has beautifully hand-painted our mascot Katerina the Honey Bee, onto one of our demonstration beehives. This unique piece will accompany the Foundation to educational and outreach events, helping us inspire the public while showcasing the importance of protecting our native National Insect.
Since launching in September 2025, Kari-Katuri has been making a mark with a bold, modern take on art. Known for distinctive caricatures and a playful style, their work captures character (both human and pets alike) while telling stories with charm and personality, making them a natural partner for our mission!
When approached for this collaboration, the answer was an instant yes. The Foundation is truly grateful for their talent and generosity, and we extend our sincere thanks to Kari-Katuri for bringing Katerina the Honey Bee to life in such a unique and creative way.
