The Foundation for the Conservation of the Maltese Honey Bee is thrilled to announce the launch of ‘Apicul-Tour #1 | By the Foundation’, offering a truly unique experience to observe the Maltese Honey Bee, Malta’s national insect, found nowhere else in the world.
Apicul-Tour will give visitors an up-close view of these remarkable bees in action, from foraging among Malta’s native flora to producing their precious honey. Guided by expert beekeepers, participants will gain insight into the life of Apis mellifera ruttneri, the only honey bee endemic to Malta, and learn about the vital role it plays in pollination and the local ecosystem.
This experience is both educational and engaging. Guests will discover the intricacies of bee behaviour, the delicate balance of nature, and sustainable practices that help conserve this unique species. An interactive experience, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and see the bees’ work firsthand.
