In response, the Foundation is strengthening its collaborative efforts by working with local professionals to develop solutions to this growing challenge:

Oriental Hornet Nest Removal
The Foundation has partnered with a professional Pest Controller to provide a safe and coordinated approach to Oriental Hornet nest removal. As hornet nests begin to establish themselves during the warmer summer months, we encourage anyone requiring nest removal services to fill the form below.
Furthermore, the associated Pest Control company has generously agreed to donate a part of every service fee to support the Foundation’s work. This means that by using this service, you will not only be supporting a local Maltese business, but also contributing towards more awareness and initiatives focused on the challenges facing the Maltese Honey Bee, Malta’s National Insect.
Oriental Hornet Trap Cages
The Foundation is making purpose-built Oriental Hornet trap cages available to everyone across Malta and Gozo. The initiative is not aimed at beekeepers alone, as the growing hornet population is a wider community concern that requires collective action. Traps can be placed in gardens, on rooftops, balconies and in suitable public spaces.
Prices are €40 for Foundation members and €45 for non-members, with non-members encouraged to consider joining the Foundation to benefit from the discounted price and other year-round benefits.
